VII. Control of Exposures to Airborne Radioactive Materials <br />1. Policy <br />Exposures to concentrations of airborne radio- <br />active materials will be limited to levels as far <br />below regulatory limits as may be reasonably <br />achievable. <br />2. Program <br />Personnel exposures to airborne radioactive materials <br />are expected to be quite low, due to the fact that <br />all process materials are damp or liquid. Conse- <br />quently it is not anticipated that respiratory pro- <br />tection will be required for any routine job function. <br />Exposure records will, however, be maintained for any <br />individual that is exposed to in excess of 25%, <br />of the applicable maximum permissible concentration, <br />as outlined in the following: <br />2.1 Natural Uranium <br />The concentration measured via lapel air sampling <br />for a given individual will be considered typical <br />of that which he is exposed to during the per- <br />tinent sampling period (e.g., day, week or month). <br />The total time spent by the individual during <br />the pertinent exposure period will then be <br />multiplied by the fraction of the maximum per- <br />missible concentration measured via lapel air <br />sampling. The result (MPC - Hours) will then <br />be compared to the following limits: <br />18 <br />
