2.2 Routine Sampling - Radon Progeny
Periodi.cal.i.y, low volume air samples (see
Equipment List in Table - 3) will be obtained from
the locations shown in Figure - 2. The freq-
uency of radon progeny air sampling will be
in accordance with Table - 1. Sampling metho-
dology and computational techniques will be
directed by standard operating procedure
(see example in Appendix - A).
2.3 Investigative Sampling
Stationary or "grab" air samplers (see techni-
cal specifications in Table - 3) will be used
as investigative tools at the discretion of the
Radiation Protection Officer. Investigative air
sampling will be used to identify sources of
unusually high concentrations, to assess out-
side effects on routinely measured concentrations,
etc. Results of investigative air sampling will
be used for management information only, and
not in the assignment of personnel exposures.
3. Records and Audits
Air sampling results will be recorded on forms similar
to these shown in the example procedure in Appendix
- A. Summaries of airborne concentrations by job
function or job function area, the results of any
pertinent investigative air sampling, and corrective
actions taken or recommended will be incorporated
into the Radiation Protection Status Report.
16
