The Mine Manager is vested with overall <br />authority and responsibility for operations, <br />radiological health and safety and environmental <br />protection programs associated with both the <br />mine and leach facility operations. <br />The degree of positional responsibility is <br />commensurate .with the authority vested in each <br />management level, as shown in Figure 1. <br />2.2 Inspections, Reports and Audits <br />A program of inspections, reports and audits <br />will be implemented to assure continuing manage- <br />ment cognizance, and timely execution of remedial <br />actions: <br />2.2.1 Radiation Protection Inspections <br />Twice monthly inspections of all processes <br />and activities within the restricted area <br />will be conducted by the Radiation Pro- <br />tection Officer. This inspection will in- <br />clude such items as; employee work practices, <br />house-keeping and other such practices <br />affecting radiological safety. The Radia- <br />tion Protection Officer will issue a re- <br />port to the Mine Manager on items of <br />noncompliance with operating procedures, <br />license requirements, or radiological <br />safety practices. This report will also <br />include any corrective actions taken or <br />recommended. <br />4 <br />
