Ilabitat tiurvc. <br />Elevation is 8450 feet according to a benchmark shown on the l tSGS map. The site was <br />staked about 50 feet inside the corner of the existing. north-south. east-west rnnning <br />fence lines. The location is primarily in the Oak Vegetation Community, consisting of <br />thick snuwberry ftiymphoricarpos oreophilus). chokecherry (Prnnus virginiana) and <br />servicebcm (Amclanchier alnifolia), with dense C;ambcl oak (~lucreus gambelii) on the <br />adjacent forest. Short. 30 foot tall, transition aspen (Populus trcmuloides) makes up the <br />ovcrstorv on the site. <br />The site is accessible from an existing road, which is approximately one mile long, and <br />which junctions with the Lion Mesa Jeep Trail at the north-fork of South Prong Creek. <br />This road crosses the creek shortly after the referenced road junction, parallels the creek <br />tiff about ahalf-mile. then turns cast on a 10-25~io gr,+de until it meets the north-south <br />fence line. From here it runs along the fence line in a southrrl} direction, then turns east <br />i~~r , quarter mile to SST-l .One tight switchback exists along the grade between the <br />crrrF.:md the north-south fenceline. <br />
