Profile No. 14CW <br />• Classification: <br />Series :SARATON <br />Phase :Shallow <br />Location: NE,NE,NW,NE Sec.23, Township 135, Range 91W <br />This is a shallow, well drained (Class 4) loamy soil which occurs <br />on basalt colluvium talus with a slope of 66 percent at an elevation of <br />7500 ft and an aspect of 122 degrees. The soil is formed from basalt <br />boulders, has no outcrops (rockiness class 0), and 15-70x coverage of <br />basalt boulders (stoniness class 4). The soils permeability is moderate <br />(permeability class 4) with rapid runoff (runoff class 4) and no <br />groundwater. Mater has caused slight erosion (water erosion class 1) on <br />the soil. The climate is semi-arid. The dominant vegetation is Gambel <br />oak, serviceberry and adapted grasses. <br />0-4 inches. Dark yellowish brown (10 YR 4/4) loam, Brown (10 <br />YR 4/3) moist; moderate medium granular primary structure; <br />soft. very friable, slightly sticky and non plastic; non <br />calcareous; non alkaline;non saline; clear wavy boundary. <br />AC 4-11 inches. Dark brown (10 YR 3/3) clay loam, very dark <br />grayish brown (30 YR 3/2) moist; moderate medium subangular <br />blocky primary structure; hard, friable, slightly sticky and <br />slightly plastic; non calcareous non alkaline; non saline; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />C 11-16 inches. Dark brown (10 YR 3/4) clay loam, Dark brown <br />(10 YR 3/3) moist; fine, medium subangular blocky primary <br />structure; slightly hard, friable. slightly sticky and <br />slightly plastic; non calcareous; non alkaline; non saline. <br />• <br />22 <br />
