Profile No. 3CW <br />Classification: <br />• Series :DELSON <br />Phase :Very Deep <br />Location: SW,SM,NE,NW Sec.23, Township 13S, Range 91W <br />This is a very deep, moderately well drained (Class 3) loamy soil <br />which occurs on basalt colluvium in slumps and slides on a slope of 9 <br />percent at an elevation of 7400 ft and an aspect of 95 degrees. The soil <br />is formed from basalt, has no outcrops (rockiness class 0), and less <br />than 3X coverage of basalt boulders (stoniness class 2). The soils <br />permeability is moderate (permeability class 4) with moderate runoff <br />(runoff class 3) and no groundwater. Water has caused slight erosion <br />(water erosion class 1) on the soil. The climate is semi-arid The <br />dominant vegetation is Gambel oak, serviceberry and adapted grasses. <br />0-10 inches. Dark gray brown (10 YR 4/2) loam, very dark gray <br />(10 YR 3/1) moist; weak very fine granular primary structure; <br />loose, loose slightly sticky and non plastic; non calcareous; <br />non alkaline (pH 6.3); non saline (EC 0.34 mmhos/cm); gradual <br />smooth boundary. <br />B1 10-34 inches. Very dark grayish brown (10 YR 3/2) loam, black <br />grayish b(10 YR 2/2) moist; strong medium subangular blocky <br />primary structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky <br />and slightly plastic; non calcareous; non alkaline (pH 6.1); <br />non saline (EC 0.23 mmhos/cm ); gradual smooth boundary. <br />B2 34-60+ inches. Dark brown (10 YR 3/3) loam, dark brown (10 YR <br />3/3) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky primary <br />structure; slightly hard, friable, non sticky and plastic; <br />non calcareous; non alkaline (pH 6.5); non saline (EC 0.13 <br />mmhos/cm). <br />• <br />11 <br />
