Minor Revision No. 218 -Update Page 2
November 7, 1997
Area 4: Seven (7) holes to the east of the MSB in Area =1 were completed. One of
the holes was completed as an inclinometer and the remainder of the holes were
abandoned as approved . Drill roads were constructed from the light-use road
located south of the MSB. Reclamation of the drill roads has not yet been
completed, but is planned to be completed within the next two weeks.
Area 5: Seven (7) holes in Area 5 were completed. All holes were abandoned
except for two, which were completed as piezometers. A stream crossing was placed
in Sylvester Gulch to access the holes in this area and has since been reclaimed. All
road reclamation for this area is complete.
Area 6: Seventeen (17) holes in Area 6 were completed. Six (6) holes were
completed as piezometers and the rest were abandoned as approved. The road
reclamation has not been completed and will not likely be completed until spring.
MCC will utilize the main drill road constructed through this area to monitor the
piezometers. In addition, IvfCC has laid a temporary power cable along the road to
provide power to the Sylvester Gulch fan until the new Sylvester Gulch substation is
brought on-line, which is expected to be in mid- to late November. As December is
an inappropriate time to begin reclamation, it will be postponed until spring.
. Area 7: Fifteen (15) holes in Area 7 were completed. Five (5) of the holes were
completed as piezometers and the rest were abandoned as approved. All reclamation
of any new disturbance has been completed. The existing light-use road remains to
provide continued access to monitoring well RAV-4B and the new piezometers.
Area 8: Nine (9) holes in Area 8 were completed. Four (4) of the holes were
completed as piezometers and the rest were abandoned as approved. All of the
reclamation in this area has been completed.
Area 9: The holes in Area 9 have been eliminated from the geotechnical
investigation and will not be drilled.
Area 10: Nine (9) holes in Area 10 were completed. Three (3) of the holes were
completed as piezometers and the rest were abandoned as approved. Most of the
reclamation has been completed in this area; however, the drill road and stream
crossings will remain until spring. The road will be used to access unfinished
construction azeas at the outlet of CSLY-4, which is planned be completed by the end
of November, inclinometer I-9 and piezometers. As December is an inappropriate
time to begin reclamation, reclamation of this road will be postponed until spring.
The two stream-crossings culverts, which will remain aze each 24-inches in diameter
and of adequate size to pass the spring run-off in Sylvester Gulch. The stream
crossings will be reclaimed at the time the road is reclaimed.
