R. 54 W. section 3: NE %4 ofthe SE'/< <br />The quarry site is approximately 25 miles northwest of Kim Colorado on Las Animas County <br />Road 54. <br />APPLICANT: Canyon Rim Stone LLC <br />Everett Jackson Jr. <br />27500 County Road 183 <br />Kim CO 81049 <br />Applicant is represented by Jack Clazk of Clark mining services located on <br />6052 South Newport Road in Centennial CO 80111. Mr. Clazk's phone <br />number is 303-221-6588. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED ACTION <br />The proposed action is to develop a rock quarry on split estate lands located in Las Animas County. This <br />is a private surface -federal minerals locality. The applicant has submitted a copy of their 110 Mined <br />Land Reclamation Permit application to our office and they plan to complete this permitting process <br />through the state. This permit will address all mining and reclamation issues pertaining to the future sale <br />of rock material to Canyon Rim Stone LLC with the exception of a T&E review and cultural inventory. <br />This permit application will be attached in hard copy to this environmental review. <br />The quarry will be developed for building stoneftandscaping material, primarily sandstone. The overall <br />permit area is 9.88 acres in size. The area to be mined sits on flat prairie northeast of Cherry Canyon. The <br />sandstone is located near the surface and is approximately 15 feet thick. A complete description of the <br />mining and reclamation plan are included in 6.3.3 of the 110 application attached to this permit. This plan <br />includes a description of mining and reclamation procedures. <br />
