• In reference to the areas requiring repair, the topsoil removal area
will be dictated by the equipment selected to do the repair. For
example, if 100 ton trucks are used to transport riprap material, a 200
foot circle work area will be required. In the event smaller trucks or
equipment are used, then the work area would be reduced accordingly.
For the purpose of the permit revision application, the work area will
be approximately 200 feet wide along the entire length of the repair
area. Colorado Yampa Coal Company will try to minimize the size of the
work area whenever possible.
The anticipated range of volumes for the various areas are as follows:
Area YD
7 21,780
31 26,620
41 50,820
51 24,200
51W 14,520
The volumes are based on an 18 inch salvage depth and these may be
modified, based upon results of topsoil test depths determined by
testing plan.
During the final grading of Area 61, some topsoil may be pushed back
from the working area. This will allow equipment maneuverability when
the graded spoil is blended with the adjacent areas.
• (6) Overburden
A narrative and appropriate
storage of all overburden materia
include pit dimensions, overburde
each phase of the ro osed operat
development waste disDOSaI sti
Temporary overburden and undergror
shall comply with the ~ lp icable
to demonstrate such compliance
geometry, and method of material
operation, each plan should also i
~)_ A surface b
explaining how the applicant into
and including the fol_lowing:_
used for
in the permit area.
volumes and swell
i.
