Long <br /> Division Dveclor <br />1 1 2c Permit Application Second Adequacy Review <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) has completed review of Louisiana Land and Gravel <br />Company, LLC's response to the preliminary adequacy review for the Angie Pit permit application. <br />DMG cannot approve the application until the comments listed below have been adequately <br />addressed. Please respond to these comments as soon as possible, or at least by June 30, 2000, <br />so the decision date set for July 7, 2000 can be met. Please be aware, if your adequacy review <br />response, or a written request for extension of the decision due date is not received, by DMG, by <br />June 26, 2000, this application may be denied. Response acceptable. <br />17.Generally, material becomes compacted during the backfilling process, as does the pit floor. <br />the reclamation plan will need to include provisions for ripping compacted areas prior to <br />placement of topsoil. Additionally, with the sandstone layer underneath the gravel identified <br />as an aquifer, the reclamation plan must ensure that a minimum of two feet of cover remains <br />over the sandstone for final reclamation. <br />18.Does the maximum highwall length figures, provided for each phase, include the "wing" areas <br />adjacent to the advancing face, that have not yet been backfilled?
