•
2.05.4 -RECLAMATION PLAN
RECLAMATION TIMETABLE
After completion of mining the following sequence of reclamation events
will occur. These actions are estimated to take the specified amount of
time but National King Coal, LLC does not commit to any specified
timeframe. Certain activities may be accelerated or delayed dependent
on season and whether they can be carved on contemporaneously with
other activities.
ACTIVITY ESTIMATED
TIMEFRAME
Mine Portal Se Oae month
Demolition and Removal of Stractures Four months
Bac and Gza Six months
Re-Establishment of Surface Drain es Two months
Re-To so Two months
Reve etation One Month
Removal of Sediment Control Strnctures, Re-
To so sad Reve etation Two months
two ars later
Reve etatioa Monito Bienniall
RECLAMATION COSTS
The operation plan, mine equipment, and structure designs and
configurations are preliminary at this point and are anticipated to
change with input and review by CDMG. Rather that prepare a
reclamation cost estimate based on these preliminary plans and designs,
it is proposed that the elements of the reclamation plan be discussed and
a fmal calculation of the reclamation costs be deferred until the final
stages of the review. At that time detailed specifics of the structures and
their locations will be known which will facilitate calculation of a more
accurate reclamation cost estimate. Ultimately, this cost estimate will be
contained in Appendix 12.
REMOVAL OF SURFACE FACILITIES
All mine surface facilities, shown on the Operations Plan and Surface
Features Map (King II-007), will be disassembled or removed from the
mine site. The foundations, steel, and other non-woody material that
cannot be sold for salvage will be pushed against the highwall and
covered by at least four (4) feet of non-toxic non-combustible fill and
topsoil. Woody material will be removed from the mine site or burned.
The following surface facilities and structures will be disassembled,
removed, or otherwise reclaimed as described below.
