L & L READY MIX
Mikell L. Koellner
P.O. Box 218
Haxtun, CO 80731-0218
July 7, 1998
Mr. Shane Briggs
Department of Wildlife
P.O. Box 128
Brush, CO 80723
RE: Mining & Reclamation Application
Sunny Dale Farm Pit
Dear Mr. Briggs,
This letter is a follow up to our phone conversation on July 1, 1998 concerning
our mining operation of sand & gravel from the above captioned site. It is my
understanding that the Division of Minerals and Geology would like the following
information from you.
a. a description of significant wildlife resources on the affected land
b. seasonal use of the area
c. the presence and estimated population of threatened or endangered
species from either federal or state lists
d. a description of the general effect during and after the proposed
operation on the existing wildlife of the area (including but not limited
to temporary and permanent loss of food and habitat, interference with
migratory routes, and general effect on the wildlife from increased
human activity, including noise.
We have not noticed any wildlife that would be included in this list. There are
numerous snake holes but we have not noticed other wildlife, especially any rare or
endangered.
Mr. Gregg Squire with the Division thought your department had a specific form
to be completed but obviously the one you read to me had none of these questions
addressed.
EXHIBIT H _ - -
WILDLIFE INFORMATION
- _ -- - - 27
