The Division is very concerned about water quality degradation from <br />mining operations. The operator must demonstrate to the Division <br />the minimal degradation of water quality in the La Plata river from <br />use of the ford will occur. This could consist of pictures showing <br />~~/ the ford and a claim by the applicant that the ford will not need <br />1_ to be improved. If the ford is improved in any way the Army Corps <br />of Engineers will need to be notified and a permit will need to be <br />obtained prior to placement of fill material. <br />E. Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan <br />~~ 1. Please determine whether reopened adits are to remain open for <br />possible future mining or whether they will be permanently sealed. <br />
