The Colorado Bird Distribution Latilong Study <br />also lists the following birds as residents of the area: Red- <br />winged Blackbird, Cassins Finch, House Finch, Common Merganser, <br />Red Breasted Merganser, Belted Ringfisher, Hairy Woodpecker, <br />Downy Woodpecker, Northern 3 toed Woodpecker; Horned Lark, <br />Clarke's Nutcracker, Black-capped Chicadee, Mountain Chicadee, <br />White Breasted Nuthatch, Pygmy Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Dipper, <br />American Robin, Golden crowned Ringlet, Starling, and House <br />Sparrow. <br />Scavenger Birds. Common scavenger birds such as the Magpie, <br />Crow, Turkey Vulture, and the Canadian Jay have been sighted in <br />the area. <br />Rare and Endangered Species. None of the threatened or <br />endangered species listed by the U.S. Department of Fish and <br />Wildlife or the Colorado Division of Wildlife occur in the area. <br />The overall effect on wildlife caused by the proposed surface <br />• mining operations will be minimal. There undoubtedly will be <br />displacement of a few species during the operation, but it is <br />expected that any displaced species will return upon completion <br />of the reclamation and cessation of operations within the area. <br />• R-2(a) <br />
