Bank slopes will be <br />maintained at 3:1. <br />b) h7ining will occur only in the creek bed. <br />c) The stockpile of topsoil will be above the creek bed on the land just <br />east of the permit area . <br />d) The mining operation is going north to south. <br />3. Bent County pit: <br />a) Depth of mining will increase as we dig into the side of the gravel <br />hill. It will reach a maximum depth of less than 10 feet, <br />b) The junk pile consists of inoperable automobiles and appliances <br />such as washers and dryers. It is at the opposite end of the permit <br />from our starting point so we do not anticipate reaching it in the near <br />future. The pile will stay where it is until we need to move it to diq. <br />4. Etchart pit: <br />a) The old building is an old trailer for a sheep herder. It has no <br />relation to the operation and the owner said it would be moved if it <br />becomes necessary, <br />b) The access road has existed for a number of years. <br />5. Army Corps of Engineers pit: <br />a) The access road is new and will be included in the permit area along <br />with all the shaded areas. <br />6. Smartt pit: <br />a) The slopes will be maintained as you suggest at 10:1 for the end slopes <br />and 3:1 for the banks. <br />b) Mining will only occur in the creek bed. <br />c) Tlie stock pile will be on the bank above the creek to the northeast <br />of the permit area. <br />d) The mining will go from southeast to northwest. <br />e) The access road is pre-existing. <br />
