Phase IW Weekly Summary No. 1 Page 3 003-2203
Field Monitoring and Testine Activities
Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase 1V earthworks. All construction
materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in
accordance with project specifications. Removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill
azeas was observed. Golder observed Structural Fill (SF) placement in Phase FV for lift thickness,
moisture content, and compactive effort.
Golder observed placement of SLF in Phase IVb for subgrade preparation, thickness, and materials.
Golder observed and documented excavation and remediation activities associated with the Phase IV
underground working construction. Workings were designated as Shallow or Deep as defined in the
drawings.
Golder observed placement of SSF, CSB, CP, and CR for underground working remediaion. These
materials were placed in accordance with the drawings and specifications into excavated or open
underground workings. Golder previously obtained samples of SSF, CSB, CR, and CP for laboratory
testing. Materials supplied met specifications. Terracon conducted field testing and sampling of CP
concrete as per specifications, and will supply 28-day strength results.
Golder observed and documented confirmation drilling activities associated with the Phase N
construction. Full-time monitoring was given to confirmation drilling of underground workings,
including logging holes, mazking drill locations, surveying holes, and documenting underground
workings encountered.
Golder visually observed the placement of DCF in the Phase IVb area. Golder had one CQA monitor
per dozer to observe DCF placement.
Golder provided full time observation of DCF removal along the edge of the Phase IVb liner.
Golder marked any liner damage that occurred outside of the overlap.
Golder observed construction of LDT in Phase IVb for trench dimensions, slope, and materials used.
Golder observed construction of Secondary and Tertiary underdrains for proper trench dimensions,
slope, materials, geotextile over-lap, and material thickness.
Laboratory Tests
Golder obtained one sample of Structural Fill (SFb-12) and one sample of Underdrian Fill (UFb-02)
for laboratory testing. The samples tested met the requirements of the specifications and results are
presented in Attachment B.
Meetines
CC&V held a Weekly Contractors meetings on September 3rd and l0a'. Items discussed included
rt,,,e,vn,.a,~o-sRaad~ Golder Associates lnc.
