2.10 (RO) ROCK OUTCROP AND (RL) ROCKLAND <br />Miscellaneous map unit RO is land for which over 90 percent of the surface is <br />exposed bedrock. The unit occurs only above the flood plain of the Williams Fork in <br />the mine facilities area. Miscellaneous Map unit RL is land for which over <br />50 percent of the surface is exposed bedrock. The unit occurs only in the Pit 6 and <br />1 area. <br />Inclusions make up about 10 percent and 50 percent, respectively of the map units. <br />Included are areas of Lithic Torriorthents. <br />2.11 MAP SYMBOLS <br />Small areas of sodic and or saline soils occur within the study area. These areas <br />are Shown on the soii map with a phi (p) symbol. <br />~,i <br />Rock outcrops less than 3 acres in size have been delineated with a triangular (n) <br />symbol. There areas occur primarily within the mao units 101E and 101F. <br />Wet areas less than 3 acres in size have been indicated on the map with a spot <br />symbol (~). These are areas that had standing surface water in the spring during <br />mapping. <br />Portions of the study area have been disturbed by roads, railroads, mine openings, <br />gravel pits, parking lots, etc. These are areas where soils have been disturbed <br />beyond recognition. The areas are shown on the map as a unit labeled DL. <br />Soil sample point locations and locations where detailed profile descriptions were <br />made are indicated on the map by a spot symbol (O 17) <br />~J <br />- 6 - <br />
