1
1
disturbed soils will be analyzed after backfilling and grading
t are completed to determine if any amendments are necessary.
' The topsoil to be imported will be analyzed prior to importa-
lion.
' 2.04.10 Vegetation Information
' The vegetation surrounding the disturbed area is pri-
' warily mountain brush, dominated by sagebrush, snowberry, ser-
viceberry and chokecherry. Along Fourmile Creek riparian vege-
' ration dominates. On the south side of Fourmile Creek there
are two additional vegetation types: Aspen shrubland and aspen
' woodland.
The only vegetation type that will be sampled is the
1 mountain brush type. A small area near the mine fan may have
' been riparian vegetation. This area makes up such a small por-
lion of the permit area (less than 0.1 acres) that it won't be
' quantitatively sampled.
The objective of this Rule is to define the baseline
i
i
d
i
d
d
on, woo
es
vegetat
on parameters (cover, pro
uct
y spec
en-
' sity and species composition) prior to mining within the vege-
ration community. However, in the case of the Sunlight Mine,
' the quantitative definition of the above parameters is not
possible since the mine has been in existence since the early
' '
s and all the land has been disturbed prior to the enact-
1900
t went of these regulations. Consequently, a sampling program
must be undertaken at the site that defines the baseline con-
' ditions of the area that has been disturbed.

1
