Page 2
Suburban Sand b Gravel Co.
November 13, 1979
3. Since Chia area is intended for recreation and wildlife habitat,
various trees and shrubs should be planted to provide a diverse
habitat.
a. Native traea could include:
1. Graea Ash
2. }lackberry
3. Cottonwood
4. Russian Olive
5. Rocky Mountain Juniper
6. Golden Willow
7. Chinese Elm
b. Native ahrube could include:
1. American Plum
2. Hansen Bose
3. Chokecherry
4. Sand Cherry
5. Skunlcbuah Sumac
6. Caregana
The trees and shrubs should be planted in a 1-2 inch deep basin with
a 2-4 inch high berm of material encircling the tree approximately
1'~ feet from the sty. Trees should be planted randomly no closer
than 20 Poet apart and the ahrube should be planted no closer thaw
3 feet apart in clusters. The 3 feat wide basin should be kept free
of weeds and the trees should be watered at least 3 times during the
sunder for the 1st 2 years.
4. Grass seed should be drilled to a depth of ~5 inch.
5. We need to have a map showing the 100 year flood.
6. We era concerned that the river will break into the pit area and
break out, thus changing the course of the river. A larger buffer
may need to be left on the west Bide of the pond. This buffer may
need to be banked on the west edge and rip-rapped for added protectiaa.
The northeast corner may also require some work.
