Since Chia area is intended for recreation and wildlife habitat, <br />various trees and shrubs should be planted to provide a diverse <br />habitat. <br />a. Native traea could include: <br />1. Caregana <br />The trees and shrubs should be planted in a 1-2 inch deep basin with <br />a 2-4 inch high berm of material encircling the tree approximately <br />1'~ feet from the sty. Trees should be planted randomly no closer <br />than 20 Poet apart and the ahrube should be planted no closer thaw <br />3 feet apart in clusters. The 3 feat wide basin should be kept free <br />of weeds and the trees should be watered at least 3 times during the <br />sunder for the 1st 2 years. <br />4. Grass seed should be drilled to a depth of ~5 inch. <br />5. We need to have a map showing the 100 year flood. <br />6. We era concerned that the river will break into the pit area and <br />break out, thus changing the course of the river. A larger buffer <br />may need to be left on the west Bide of the pond. This buffer may <br />need to be banked on the west edge and rip-rapped for added protectiaa. <br />The northeast corner may also require some work. <br />
