~. ~ • <br />REMARKS: The existing pit had been operated by the Bureau of Reclamation <br />from 1985 through 1989, reclamation was completed by Saguache County. <br />Skoglund Excavation Inc., has applied for a mining and reclamation permit <br />through the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG) and will assume <br />responsibility for operations and maintenance of structures and features <br />associated with mining operations at the pit The Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology in cooperation with the BLM will hold a reclamation bond on subject <br />property to assure adequate reclamation of the mining site. <br />All materials removed from the pit during mining operations will require that <br />royalty fees, at the appraised price, be paid to the Bureau of Land Management in <br />advance to removal of materials. Haul tickets or other manner of record will be <br />provided to the BLM on a quarterly basis. <br />Proposed operator has provided, as required, a 30 day notice to the general public, <br />adjacent land owners, and Saguache County an opportunity to respond to the <br />proposed action. To date operator, CDMG or the BLM have not received any <br />adverse or otherwise, comments regarding the proposed action. <br />Attachments to this ADR are as follows: <br />Public notice of proposed action. <br />Archaeological consultation. <br />Original EA (CO-050-SL-86-02) analysis of the gravel pit mining operation. <br />COMPLIANCE PLAN: The area BLM/FS Geologist will be the compliance officer <br />for the BLM and will conduct inspections on a bimonthly basis to assure <br />compliance to operators mining plan and reclamation plan. <br />SIGNATURE OF PREPARER: ~~e~ ~~~~%~'! <br />SIGNATURE OF ENVIRONMENTAL COORDIN~ <br />'-~.,~ <br />DATE: 3 ~ ~ 3 \ q 1 <br />FONSI: We have reviewed this environmental assessment, which analyzes the <br />environmental effects of the proposed action. The approved mitigation measures <br />result in a finding of no significant impact on the human environment. Therefore, <br />an environmental impact statement is not necessary to further analyze the <br />environmental effects of the proposed action. <br />
