~ i
Utilities and Underground Pipelines Due to the significant oil and gas development
in the Piceance Basin, numerous underground pipelines exist near the project. In
addition, there are other utility lines in the area, including power lines.
Table S-3 presents known utility lines that will be crossed or approached closely (within
200 feet) by the proposed pipelines and the locations of the crossings.
Table S-3 Location of Utility Crossings
Utili Owner Crossin Location T e of Utili
Questar T2S, R96W, Section 8 natural as line
TransColorado T2S, R96W, Section 8 natural as line
Colorado Interstate Gas T2S, R96W, Section 8 natural as line
Wildhorse T2S, R96W, Section 8 natural as line
Public Service Com an of Colorado T2S, R96W, Section 8 electric line
White River Electric T2S, R96W, Section 8 electric line
Barrett Resources T2S, R96W, Section 8 natural as line
Northwest Pi eline T2S, R96W, Section 8 natural as line
Colorado Interstate Gas T4S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Barrett Resources T4S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Northwest Pi eline T4S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Unocal T6S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Chevron T6S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Exxon T6S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Mobil T6S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
Atlantic Richfield T6S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
TOSCO T6S, R96W, Section 34 natural as line
In general, there will be three primary areas where a number of underground lines will
be crossed. The first area is near Magnolia Camp (T2S, R96W, Section 8), which is a
major origination point for numerous natural gas lines.
The second area is a crossing of three natural gas lines (T4S, R96W, Section 34) that is
necessary to move the pipelines from the west side of the existing pipeline corridor to
the east side, which is required for wildlife mitigation. The three pipelines crossed here
will be paralleled within 200 feet for a significant portion of the 44-mile-long pipeline
corridor.
The third major crossing area is near the southern end of the pipeline corridor (T6S,
R96W, Section 34) where the proposed pipeline will parallel an existing 5-party corridor
that parallels County Road 215 in the Parachute Creek valley.
S-4
