These grasses have been proven to do well in the dry lowland environment of the lower Colorado <br />River valley. They will prevent erosion and do provide forage and cover for animals. Certified weed <br />free hay or straw mulch will also be applied at the rate of 2000 Ibs/acre. <br />The topsoiled slopes of the lake designated for wetlands (6.39 acres) will be broadcast seeded or <br />hydroseeded for a distance 5 feet below waterline and 10 feet above waterline with the following <br />mix: <br />S~recies Lbs Pure Live Seed per acre <br />Slender wheatgrass 3.0 <br />Basin Wildrye 1.5 <br />Inland Saltgrass 1.0 <br />Alkali Sacaton 1.0 <br />Timothy 1.0 <br />Redtop grass 1.0 <br />Carex sedge 1.0 <br />Common Reedgrass 0.5 <br />Canadian Reedgrass 0.5 <br />Skunkbush Sumac 0.1 <br />Black Greasewood 0.1 <br />Snowberry 0.5 <br />Northern Sweetvetch 0.2 <br />Orchardgrass 0.4 <br />Western Wheatgrass 1.0 <br />Total 12.8 <br />Seeding will normally be done during the fall when temperatures are woler.
