~~ 1.23 Topsoiled Acres (1990)
Trapper retopsoiled 113.1 acres during 1990 in Ashmore, Colt and Derringer pits.
1.2.4 Species Planted During 1990
The species and seeding rates used at Trapper during 1990 were presented for
approval in Appendix W (1989) in Tables 7-1 thru 7.7. They were approved by
CMLRD on 8/14/90 (TR48). The mixes were seeded as approved. See Table 1.1
and maps 1.0. There were 113.1 acres revegetated to perennial species associated
with mine pit(s) advancement and 66.1 non-mining acres planted in the perennial
haycrop mix.
1.'_a Augmented Seeding andJor Cultural Practices
In addition to 1990 replaced topsoil revegetation practices, Trapper also conducts
several augmented seeding and/or cultural practices. These practices are
addressed below.
Mature Shrub Transplant Clump
• Trapper constructed two 1.6-acre shrub clumps in 1990 reclamation, one in
Derringer pit at approximately 6,750' elevation, and one in Ashmore pit south of
the 6700-ft contour line and north of the 1990 7ohnson tributary reconstruction.
Trapper has constructed 14 of these clumps to date (22.4 acres) for wildlife habi-
tat improvement purposes.
Seeding Shrub Clump
Trapper built a 1.2 acre seedling shrub clump using 2 species of bareroot woody
plant materials (Gambel Oak and Ceanothus). The clump is located in Derringer
Pit just above the 6700-ft contour line in the middle of Coyote drainage. Trapper
also added 550 aspen to an existing seedling shrub clump located at the head-
waters of Coyote drainageway.
Drainageway Reconstruction
The acreages, location and methods are fully descnbed in Section 3.0 of this
annual report.
r~
LJ
