In
terms of MLRB requirements, the applicant/operators responsibili-
• ty is to slope and revegetate the landform such that the after-
use is possible. For Adams County., additionally the applicant
will have to prove feasibility of water and sewer, provide for
drainage facilities, etc. for rezoning and subdivision approval.
However, since this type of afteruse is what is developing in
~ the area and has been approved for similar mining requests, it
is anticipated that the proposed afteruse will be approved by
the County.
~ All reveg^tation will be in conformance with the recommendations
of the West Adams Soil Conservation Service (with some additions
suggested by Mr. Schmeiding of the MLRB staff), and all vegeta-
tion will be maintained until established or five years which-
ever comes first. Mr. Brown of the Colorado State University
..
Extension Service was also appraised of the conservation Service's
recommendation on proposed revegetation and felt the recommenda-
tions would be acceptable to him.
~ The majority of the property (22+ acres) will be left as one
large lake. Along the east and south boundaries, the sloping
will be a maximum of 2 to 1, except for areas down to 10 feet
below water line and 5 feet above water line where a maximum
~ 3 to 1 slope will be established. In addition, along the east-
ern side and for 800 feet along the south, a 3 foot to 10 foot
berm will be constructed to help as a noise and visual barrier.
To further help as a noise and sound barrier rows of Russian
f Olive and Mountain Junipers will be planted.
Along the north and west sides behind the homesites, above water-
line the sloping will be a maximum of 2 to 1 to 5 feet above
waterline. Then for a beach 5to 1 will be used to 5 feet below
~ waterline, 3 to 1 to 10 feet below waterline, and 2 to 1 there-
after to the bedrock floor. The floor of the lake will be left
in a reasonably smooth condition. The shoreline, although gen-
erally straight on the reclamation plan map (Exhibit F), will
•
be irregular in shape to provide variety, if possible.
•

•
