Rule 4-(5
• Produ~tivirv:
Herbaceous vegetative productivity of reclaimed azeas must be 90% or greater of
reference area herbaceous vegetation productivity with 90% statistical confidence.
2. Relative percent cover for three herbaceous species not to exceed 75%.
Based on field studies conducted in 1990, 1993, 1996 and 1997, it appears that all revegetation success
standazds were being met within the areas sampled at that time.
Documentation regarding revegetation success was provided in the Phase II/Phase III bond release
application. Routine mine and facility site inspections by MLRD staff over the last several years have
confirmed the generally successful nature of the revegetation program and lack of problems in this regazd.
The Annual Reclamation Reports for HGCC summarize revegetation data for the years 1979 through
1987. The bond release application includes a demonstration that shows the revegetation efforts for the
reclaimed azeas meet the required statistical success criteria for all cover, production and shrub density
standards. Species diversity also meets the required criteria and is similaz to pre-mined conditions and
adjacent reference azeas.
r~
~~
r~
~J
~aPIFR L.mIIY.~eMrrtw
,,,/o, m. 4.15-3 Revised - 2/5/97
