1I ~/
J
to improve species diversity at the mine site. A plan for evaluating spaces diversity was submitted Mazch
25, 1982. A woody plant density of 1000 stems/acre was established June 28, 1983. A plan for
monitoring revegetation success was proposed during the mid-term review in Mazch 1985. On January
6, 1986, a minor revision was submitted to change the reclamation seed mixture to improve species
diversity.
Since the ]anuary 1987 permit renewal, two minor revisions (MR-02 and MR-06), three technical revisions
(TR-53, TR-62, and TR-67), one renewal stipulation (RN-02) and one Phase II/Phase III bond release
(SL-03) concerning revegetation issues have been approved or satisfied. Table 13 summarizes relevant
information concerning these revisions.
" .. The woody plant density standard for all reclaimed areas outside the shrub
enhancement areas will be 200 stems per acre.
2. Within the four shmb enhancement azeas the shrub density standazd will be 750
stems per acre.
Snecies Diversity:
1. At least five species representing more than 5% relative cover each.
2. Relative percent cover for three herbaceous species not to exceed 75%.
3. No single species with greater than 40% cover.
Percent Cover:
1. Weighted mean of the reclaimed azea herbaceous vegetation cover percentage must
be 90% or greater of the reference azea percent herbaceous vegetation cover with
90% statistical confidence.

4.15-2
Revised - 06/01
