4. As per your request, the statement "about one out of every five holes will be <br />twinned and core drilled through the coal" in Section 6.2.1 (Method) is amended <br />to read <br />"up to 20 holes may be twinned and core drilled through the coal, with a <br />maximum depth of no more than 180 feet". <br />6. Section 6.2.1 (Method) is further amended to include the following statement: <br />No staging areas, fueling areas, equipment maintenance areas or lay-down areas <br />will be required for the proposed activities. <br />7. Section 6.2.2 (Access) is amended with the addition of the following paragraph: <br />Vehicular travel, on other than established graded and surfaced roads, will be <br />limited to that absolutely necessary to conduct the exploration. During periods <br />when excessive damage to vegetation or rutting of the land surface could result, <br />travel will be confined to graded and resurfaced roads. Roads used for coal <br />exploration, or arty existing road which is `significantly altered' (as defined in <br />Regulation 4.21.4(3)(6) of the Colorado Mining regulations), will comply with the <br />applicable provisions of Regulation 4.03.3. As stated in Regulation 4.21.4(3)(6), <br />routine maintenance or minor rehabilitation activities, including blading and <br />cuh~ert replacement, do not constitute significant alteration of an existing road <br />8. Section 6.2.1 (method) is further amended to include the following five <br />pazagraphs: <br />If excavations, artificial flat areas, or embankments are created during <br />exploration, these areas will be returned to the approximate original contour <br />promptly after such features are no longer needed for coal exploration. <br />Prior to earth moving or excavations of any type, the A and B horizons will be <br />salvaged and stored in an area that will be undisturbed and not subject to <br />excessive wind or water erosion. The underlying subsoil material will, if <br />necessary, be salvaged and stored in an area separate from A and B horizon <br />materials. Immediately upon cessation of operations, the subsoil will be replaced <br />
