Based on
staff visits to the Trapper ?fine site and a review of the reclamation plan
submitted by U.I. on :fay 20, 1980, we find the proposed minor modification to
your backfilling and grading plan acceptable. The Bureau of Land ,fanagement
(BLM) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) concur with our findings.
It is my understanding that U,I. intends to submit a post-mining topography
map for the mine plan area in August of this year. A copy of this map must be
submitted to t'~is office and approved by OSM pricy to approving additional
tops oiling under 30 CFR 211.41 or reviewing additional requests for
modifications to your backfilling and grading plan. This request is being
made in order to avoid future delays in approving tops oiling of regraded areas
and to ensure that reclamation procedures at the mine result in the most
practical and stable post-mining configuration possible.
If you have any further questions, please contact Tom Pike of my staff: (303-
837-3773).
Sincerely,
DONALD A.
