RECLAMATION PLAN
1
Grasses
SSHIBIT B (Continued)
" Crested Wheatgrass (norden) 3.00
I Slender Wheatgrass 8.00
Basin Wildrye 8.00
Blue Grama 3.00
Shrubs
Fringed Sage 0.25
4-wing Saltbush 0.25
Big Sagebrush 0.25
Total Lbs. PLS 22.75
I When broadcast, it will be spread on a rough surface and the
1 seeded areas will be dragged or raked thoroughly.
The three shrub species to be planted are native to the site.
If any of they are not available at seeding time a similar species
may be added to the mix. The amounts in the mixture are relative
low because in the past the Division of Wildlife has informed that
shrubs planted in grass mixtures can inhibit the growth of the
J grass if planted in too great a quantity. We expect some natural
revegetation but to what extent we do not know.
No irrigation is planned for the revegetated area. This is a
very arid site and no water is available.
RSCLAMATION TIMBTABLS.
Reclamation will begin in the fall of 1987 in Phase 0~ an area
previously mined. We anticipate approximately 508 of the total
affected land will be in some form of reclamation by the time
mining is completed. It is expected that all recoiling and revegeta-
tion will be completed at the end of the second fall after mining
is completed in any given Phase. The area will be monitored for
success of revegetation until accepted by the Board. If revegetation
failures occur prior to release, an analysis will be made and the
area will be revegetated again as necessary. The operator estimates
that reclamation will be completed by 2005.
15
