The following is a <br />description of these soils as published by the U.S. Soil <br />Conservation Service in their Jackson County soil survey. <br />BANGSTON SERIES <br />The Bangston series consists of deep, well drained and <br />somewhat excessively drained soils that formed in wind-blown <br />sands. They are on hills and ridges on uplands between <br />elevations of 7,900 and 8,500 feet. Slopes are 1 to 10 <br />percent. The native vegetation is mainly needle-and-thread, <br />bluebunch wheatgrass, sheep fescue, muttongrass, junegrass, blue <br />grama, and big sagebrush.
