RECLAMATION PLAN
E%RIBIT E BARTLEY GRAVEL PIT (112)
SECTION 15, T40N, R19iI, NMPM
Planned reclamation for the existing and proposed operations is
revegation for livestock dry range grazing. Worked-out excavation
areas will be smoothed by bulldozer and oversized reject material
placed at the toe of the bordering slope-cut banks. Stockpiled topsoil
will be respread, smoothed and contoured evenly over the prepared
surface to an average depth of 1 to 2 feet.
The natural gradient both of the surface and the underlying hard
sandstone in the east portion of the site would drain surface moisture
to the road culvert at the east corner of the permitted area.
Experience has shown in the existing operation that surface moisture
does not accumulate on the site, despite the temporary artificial low
areas of the operations and throughout an unusually wet winter, spring
and summer.
Present existing drainage west of the pipeline right-of-way is
southerly to the north ditch of County Road L, thence west along the
road ditch, although very little surface drainage is experienced on the
site. Reclamation grading will allow for continued southerly surface
drainage. No water impoundment is expected to occur during nor
following operations anywhere with the permitted area.
Postmining use of the premises conforms with the premining site
use and existing use of neighboring lands to the east and west.
Adjacent lands both north and south are located outside the bench slope
of the proposed site and due tc deeper soils are better suited to their
present use for dryland bean and wheat cultivation.
NOGTN
yo`~
y,.
_ _ ~ _ ... _-_ ~ _.. .. - _- _ _ CRO VLAUa
- ~ DAKOTA - -- - ~ - ~ -~~ -SANDSTONE - - - ~ - - - - -
