Table 5 lists the areas which will be exposed to wind-blown erosion.
TABLE 6
LORENCITO CANYON MINE
DLSTURBED AREAS
Facility Acreage
Surface Mine 330.00
P-1/P-2 Portal 10.21
P-3 Portal 3.36
R-1/R-2 Portal 3.17
Haul Roads 82.83
Access Road 16.12
Loadout Facility 14.16
Railroad Spur 2.23
Total 462.08
The emission factor for wind-blown erosion on exposed areas is 0.28*0.38 tons/acre/year (APCD
Fugitive Particulate Emission, Section II, Table 8.241).
Annual emissions will be 49.17 tons/year.
EXEMPTED SOURCES
Electric power will be used as energy for the mine facilities and no backup generators; are planned.
A total of nine diesel fuel storage tanks will be on the mine as follows: two 5,000- gallon tanks
at the surface mine, two 5,000 gallon-tanks at the loadout facility, 1,000-gallon tanks at the P-3
and R-1/R-2 portals, and two 1,000 gallon tanks at the P-1/P-2 portal for a total capacity of 24,000
gallons. Total annual fuel diesel usage at the LCC mine will be 1,648,065 gallons. Table 7 shows
the estimated fuel usage for each type of equipment planned for the LCC mine.

C1
