2. Tha depression shown near the northern boundary of the pit is a
previously wined eras. When this wining was done end by whow is
unknown to us. I would essuwe it was done by previous property
owners for fares operation purposes.
Th• feature near th• plant alt• area is a pond owned and built by
Mr. Rich. Mr. Rich plena on •liwanating th• pond in th• near
future, as it is no longer required for hie irrigation ayatew.
3. Attached is a wap showing th• proposed locations of topsoil
stockpiles.
4. Attached is a revised copy of wap C-C-1 Showing locations of
settling ponds and the discharge area. The actual discharge will
be directly into the existing old channel of the river. Tha grade
of the existing channel is such that the flow will ba reduced to
winiwal velocity so that sediwanta will deposit in the old channel
before raaehing the active river channel. It la anticipated that
no dews or diversions in the existing channel will b• necessary end
it is also anticipated that the aediwant load of the water leaving
the affected area will be very light.
Exhibit D - Mining Plan
1. We do not believe that a 100' setback fro^ the river is
necessary, but if you are requiring it, w• have no choice but to
cowwit to a 100' setback frow the river.
2. Th• planned weixiwuw depth of ^ining la dependent on the depth
of ecdeptable ^aterlal and the eeonowica of the rewovnl operation.
We een cowwit to a waxiwuw depth of not greater than 40'. This
will be in the ereaa of the pit to be wined wet. The portion of
the pit to be wined dry will be wined approxiwataly 10 feet or 1
£oot above high ground water level whichever is least. A revision
will be sought if wining in the dry ereaa exceeds 30'.
3. All available topsoil will be salvaged and stockpiled for
reclewation. Six inches of topsoil will be replaced in the pit
Brea end four inches will be placed in the plant site area. All
topsoil stockpiles will be planted with a perennial grass cover
crop recowwended by the SCS end approved by the MLRB staff prior to
use. All topsoil stockpiles will ba eloped ao they do not exceed
2:1 elopes. Stockpiles will b• located in the perwited arse.
