I~ac~no ela~~
l he [)acono clay u+i) type is present ~+ithin the proposed project site al 0 to 1 percent slupcw and
I to ± percent slapc~s. They arc de-~p, level and nearly Icvel. well-drained terrace soils tirm+ed in
alluvium. Permeability is moderately slow and available water capacity nwdexate. For the lowe7
sloping :ucas, surface runoff is slow. and the cnrsiun h:v~u-d is Iow. In areas with stccTxr slopes,
surface runoff is medium. but the erosion harard is still low.
'T'his soil type is used almost entirely for imgat+xl crops. II is suited to all crops commonly
grown in the area, but the high clay content and rapidly pcrrneahle substratum slightly restrict
some crops. 'The soil is only fair to good tier urban and recreational development. 'The moderate
to high shrink-swell potential, lo«• strength, and nuuler.+tcly slog pcrntcabilily create problems in
dwelling :uxl road construction. 'I'hc soil can produce habitat elements that sac highly suitable
liar ulxnland wddlifc including pheasant, cottontail.:uu1 muurnm~~ dove. Plantings of trees and
shnd+s cannnonh grown in thr area arc generally «•cll suited to this soil.
