The tributary to Munger Creek is generally dry and will experience run off only <br />• in response to large precipitation events. The area surrounding the channel is a <br />typical big sagebrush shrubland. The excavation of the channel will only repair <br />damage from the August storm and no other environmental impact will occur. The <br />land surrounding the channel will not be affected by the operation since the channel <br />is dry and the equipment will travel up the channel to the excavation site. No water <br />disposal is necessary since the channel is dry. Numerous environmental studies for <br />the mine permit have not identified any endangered species of plant or animal in the <br />area. Care will be exercised to ensure that no material will be side cast onto the <br />channel banks and to limit damage to vegetation along side of the channel. <br />C. Location <br />Figure 1 shows the location of the repair project. The location of the channel <br />is the NW'/a of the SW 1/a of Section 28 in Township 7S Range 102 W of the 6TH PM <br />in Garfield County, Colorado. The latitude and longitude of the project is: <br />Lat. 39° 46' 34.9" Lon. 108° 25' 21.8" <br />The location of the project is shown on the Howard Canyon 7'/z 'quadrangle. <br />D. Drawings <br />• The required drawings are shown on Figures 2, 3 and 4. <br />E. Mitigation Plan <br />No wetlands are present in the area of the channel or the stockpile site. <br />Therefore no wetlands mitigation plan is necessary or proposed. <br />F.
