Although some financial arrangements have been discussed with TUREXPRESS, no
actual or committed financial data can he supplied at this time, f,WI must
wait for further development work before committing to construction of this
system,
For these reasons, the pneumatic capsule pipeline cannot he analyzed nor
seriously considered for construction at this time.
Alternative #2 - Overland Conveyor between Mine Site and Loadout Area
CWI has information and projected costs on overland conveyor belt systems
from n~nerous material handliny specialists. Until an actual commitment is
made to construct the facility, the companies cannot furnish binding bids.
CWI has worked in particular with Lively Manufacturing and Equipment Com-
pany, a leading conveyor contractor, to furnish technical evaluation and
budget estimates. That information has been utilized in this analysis.
Actual bids would require actual scheduling of the construction.
Alternative #2 assumptions:
- New Conveyor Capital Cost = 56,800,000, based nn an estimate by L1VP-
ly Manufacturing and Equipment Co., dated November 6, ]984
- Four new persons required to operate and maintain conveyor - 1 person
per shift plus a surface foreman.
- Oirect labor cost of person is 532,073,60 per year.
- Fringe benefits are 35Y of direct labor cost.
- Conveyor will yenerate 710 HP when fully loaded,
- Based on anticipated production rate, this power may be generated
one-third of the time.
• - 1 KW-hr of power costs 80.0718.
Alternative #3 - Truckiny to a New Dump Station Located on Steven's Gulch
Road and a Short Conveyor to the Loadout Area,
CWI has also requested information on a short conveyor belt. For this
analysis, another Lively Manufacturiny and Equipment Company bud yet estimate
has been used, Actual bids cannot he given because of unknown scheduliny,
Assumptions:
- Conveyor capital cost - 83,691,000 based on Lively Manufacturing and
Equipment Company estimate of November 6, 1984.
- Shortened haul distance and suhsequent trucking cost reduction of
33%.
- Three new persons are required to operate and maintain conveyor - one
per shift.
- Direct labor cost per person is 532,073.60 per year.
- Frinye benefits are 35~ of direct labor cost.
- Conveyor will yenerate 105 HP when fully loaded.
- Based on anticipated production rates, this power may he generated
- one-third of the time.
- 1 KW-hr of power costs 80.0718.
