• 4.14.6 RILL AND GULLY PLAN. Continued
The spacing of the contour furrows were determined using RUBLES equations
for sediment yield. The furrows were spaced so that erosion will be less than 5
tons/acre/year once revegetation is established. The actual calculations are contained
in Addendum D.
General rill and gully repair, if needed, will be performed annually after the
likelihood of heavy cloudburst type rains has passed. Normally, these types of storms
do not occur after October 1~'. Interim repairs will be conducted within 60 days of rill and
gully formation unless adverse ground conditions would result in additional surface
damage and erosion. In this case, repairs will be delayed until the ground has dried
sufficiently and/or growth has advanced to the point where repair activities will not
unduly harm new growth.
•
•
~~~11
685 Revised 10/99
