SCOPE
This report presents the results of a series of slope stability
U
analyses for the proposed Streeter Canyon fill near Meeker, Colorado. The
purpose of the work was to analyze the revised configuration proposed by
the Colowyo Coal Company. Our analyses are based on the slope configura-
tion supplied by Colowyo, laboratory and field investigations by Golder
Associates and Wahler and Associates, and site observations. The report
includes a description of the configuration and material properties, analysis
techniques, analytical results, and disscusions. A summary of our findings
and conclusions is presented below.
CONCLUSIONS
1. The results of analyses indicate the proposed additional spoil
will not adversely. affect the overall stability of the spoil
pile.
2. Our analyses indicate that the factor of safety far a deep-seated
failure will be on the order of 1.6.
3. Should either a high ground water table or a perched water table
develop, there is a possibility of minor slumps occurring near
the toe of the slope.
SITE CONDITIONS
The Colowyo Streeter Canyon fill is located in Sections 2 and 3, T. 2N,
R. 97W, Moffat County, Colorado (Fig. 1). Pre-mining topographic mapping
indicates Streeter Canyon forms a "reverse-V" where the mouth of the canyon
• is more narrow than upstream areas.
