Storage Caoacitv
The as-built storage capacity of Sediment Pond 006 was also analyzed using the SEDCAD
computer program. Table 13.4-15 is a summary of the designed storage capacity.
TABLE 13-4-15
As-Built Storage Capacity Summary
Pond 006
Capacity
Elevation Siege (AC.-Ft.) Please see .
Exhibit 13.6 for location end design of spillways. The principal spillway consists of a
24~~ diameter drop inlet corrugated metal pipe (CMP) with trash screen. Maximum elevation
(peak siege) with the passage of the 10-year, 24-hour event will be 7070.1, this leaves
0.7 feet to the emergency spillway crest.
The emergency spillway consists of riprapped trapezoidal channel. Assuming the principal
spillway pipe was plugged, the trapezoidal channel could safely pass the runoff volume
from the 100-year, 24-hour storm. Peak stage elevation with the passage of the 100-year
storm is 7073.1, this leaves 5.7 feet of freeboard to the top of embankment. Please refer
to Addendum 1 for capacities of both spillways during passage of the 10 and 100-year storm
events. Table 13-4-16 and Addendum 2 presents the design calculations for the principal
and emergency spillway.
17
