JV
• •
1 EXHIBIT E (Revised 4-28-78)
(iii) Only that portion of the 5-mile long A-band
' quarry as outlined in red on quarry- maps is
subject to reclamation under this application.
' Preliminary plans on reopening old C- and E-
2
band quarries in 1950 indicate operation and reclama-
' ti on of this quarry will include placing some over-
' burden into much of the depleted A-band gttarry.
This will present an opportunity for a good reclama-
' tion blend between the two quarries. See proposed
final quarry cross-sections, Exhibit F.
a. Although the land is poor for this use, it
is about the only use practical under the conditions, in-
' cludinE insufficient precipitation.
Eventual reclamation will include about 895 acres
as outlined in red and green on the quarry maps. In-
eluded in this acreage is a 24-acre designated portion
of the depleted A-band quarry that will continue to be used
' n:; ^ ~li cposal a rea for solid material refuse from the
cement plant. This deposition of refuse refills the old
'
quarry and will enable easy reclamation by cover with a
soil substitute from one of the nearby overburden piles.
