EXHIBIT E (Revised 4-28-78)
RECLP.P.4ATION PLAN

INTRODUCTION
' Conditions and factors peculiar to this quarry that
have a bearing on final reclamation are as follows:
' (i) A quarry was ct,arted in this location due to ready
access to continuous limestone outcrops. Soils
'
in general are poor, rocky and shallow, and not
' practical to remove except in some areas. These
conditions, coupled with low precipitation, were
' not of sufficient value for gra~,ing to justify the
installation of fences. The D- through F-band out-
'
crops have areas from which limited surface materials
' consisting of soils vrith weathered, broken rock, which
can be removed without blasting and stored as the best
' ::oil substitute available. See also Exhib_:t I for
' soil descriptions.
(ii) Several years of experimental plantings on 15 to
' 20-year old overburden piles indicate that most
' plantings are successful if moisture conditions are
favorable. Four vaing salt brush and Hanson rose are
' plantings that have shown good survival. F`abbit brush,
skunk brush, Morning Star and miscellaneous; native
' r;rasses have been reseeded by natural processes on the
' repose slopes of old spoil piles that have air slacked,
weathered and settled over several years.

1
E
S
l
:{
5
