~ 1~1~1
• •
7
E:'HIBIT D (Revised 4-28-78)

staggered locations in the previously (1928-1956) quarried
' area between the plant and the flood ditch. A-band and other
hi~~h calcium limestones will also be required especia]ly for
t the production of special cements. It appears that actual
' operation will be essential to final determination of several
complex factors including those above. It will require a fev/
' years to determine if additional quarries will be neeced to
maintain blends for best efficiency of kiln and quarry opera-
' tions. Currently, unknown factors will determine the down-
' ward limit to which C-band and E-band reserves can be removed
economically.
' The following calculation gives information on the size
of the A-band as compared to the future C- and E-band quarry
' operations.
The A-band quarry vrill have a total length of 28,000
feet depleted in 23 years, or an average advance of 1,220 feet
' annually. With an average width of 700 feet, this calculates
to be about 20 acres per year.
' The C- and E-Land quarries have 5 to 6 times mare reserves
than the A-band, per unit of length, within a total disturbed
'
r,idth of 1,000 to 1,200 feet. By comparison, advance of the
' C- and E-band quarriec will be (1,220 ~ 5.5) 222 feet average
per year. With the 46 percent increase in production, the
' 222 feet would be 325 feet or an average of 8.2 acres of newly
disturbed land per year.
1
