If the surface is owned by a person other than the person who <br />intends to explore, give a description of.the basis upon which <br />the person who will explore claims the right to enter such area <br />for the purpose of conducting exploration and reclamation <br />(attach supporting documents, if applicable): N of applicable <br />5. Attach a description of the land to be affected. For example: The <br />condition of the topsoil, the general hydrology, type of vegetation and <br />topography, Rule 2, 02,2(2)(c). <br />The affected land as shown on the map provided is described <br />by legal description as being the NZ Section 29, and the past 33 <br />acres of the Sr.;NE; Section 30, Twp. 33 South, Rge. 63 ~9est, 6th Ph'. <br />Soil analysis in the area has been provided by ~'r. Randall <br />V. Staples, Soil Conservation Service, 'J. S. Dept. of agriculture. <br />Holes 9. 10, 15. 15, h 17 fall into an area of Loamy Plains Range; <br />holes 11 & 12 are in a Loamy Foothills Range; hole 13 is in a Pinon- <br />Juniper Woodlands, and the remaining holes are situated in a 50s~ Basalt <br />Breaks & $Oo Loamy Plains Range. In depth studies of the soils are of <br />record and can be made available if necessary. Generally topsoil cover <br />in the area is quite thin, and supports little vegetation. <br />The area is drained by two intermittent streams, one flowing <br />diagonally northwest through the center of section 29, and the other <br />skirting the east edge of the acreage in section 30 also in a northwest <br />direction. <br />The vegetation is sparse range grasses, juniper, pinon, and cactus. <br />The thin tree coverage will permit the drilling to be completed without <br />cutting trees down to make drillsites. <br />6. Describe Exploration Activities; Rule 2.02,2(2)(g): <br />a. Attach a narrative description of methods and equipment to be <br />used to conduct coal exploration activities. Include drilling <br />operations, surface blasting, road or access route construction, <br />excavated earth and debris disposal activities. Also describe <br />measures to be taken to protect the environment: topsoil <br />salvage, diversion of overland flow, settling ponds, etc. <br />The equipment to be used is a Gardner-Denver 15Y: which is equipped <br />with a self leveling device, thereby abolishing the need to dig holes <br />
