Mr. Gregg Squire
Page four
August 20, 1986
Town Loadout - Reclamation Plan
The revision concerning the town Loadout, located in Craig, Colorado,
concern the leaving of structures and .facilities in place at final
reclamation. In the originally proposed reclamation plan, the
structures and facilities were to be removed from the site. However,
Empire Energy now plans to leave the structures and facilities in
place as an industrial site at final reclamation. Preliminary
discussions with the DR&G railroad have been initiated, although no
firm agreements have been made concerning the structures and
facilities. Once an agreement has been made with the railroad
concerning the postmining land use, documentation will be sent to the
division.
Deleted Information
Some information submitted in the original permit document has been
deleted from the permit revision because Empire Energy feels this
information is either not required or not applicable to the current
situation. This information includes: 1) approved facility
construction drawings, 2) coal seam projection drawings, and 3) out of
date or not applicable maps and drawings.
The CMLRD has significant familiarity with Empire Energy's existing
operation. The CMLRD has evaluated and reviewed the permitting of the
No 5. Mine on several occasions in the past. Because of this past
experience with Empire Energy's No. 5 Mine, it is hoped that this will
allow the review of the No. 6 Mine Permit Revision to progress
smoothly. Empire Energy realizes that because this permit revision is
a reorganized version of the current permit and in addition, would
allow multiple seam longwalT mining, that this application will be
carefully reviewed. Empire Energy specifically invites any of your
staff reviewing this application to feel free to contact myself in
Empire Energy's office in Craig with any questions or requests.
Empire Energy Corporation
R.O.
