EXSIBIT D
MIIiI11G PI.iAN
Alpine Rock Company will erect a portable
at the northwest end of the site. They
gravel and haul finished product from the
gravel processing plant
will crush and screen
site.
The grave] supply exists in placer tailings stockpiles created by
previous gold/silver mining. Gravel stockpiles vary in height but
are approximately five to 15 feet high. The stockpiles will be
removed to a depth that ties in with surrounding grades. The
material ranges from cobbles to small gravel. There will be no
excavation of material below the original ground level. Work will
occur in previously disturbed areas along the Swan River. No
mining activity will occur in the river or associated wetlands.
Gravel will be moved by loader and trucks from the immediate
stockpile area to the plant site. Processed material will be
hauled off-site as the market dictates.
Bulk fuel will be stored in a tank on-site outside the 100 year
floodway. The majority of flood flows will be contained within the
river channel.
No diversions or impoundments will be needed. Existing roads will
be used for all travel to and from plant sites.
After one stockpile area has been exhausted, the area will be
graded. The plant site will then be moved to process gravel in the
next area. The site will be mined in 17 Phases allowing one to two
years per phase for a total of approximately 20 years. Market
demand will dictate time required for extraction.
Mining will progress in the directions shown on Exhibit C. Mine
areas will vary in size from five to ten acres.
Major Disturbance
The entire site is in a state of "major disturbance" due to the
tailings stockpiles in the floodplain of the Swan River. Mining
the gravel stockpiles will not create major disturbance.
Moderate Disturbance
Plant Site and Product Stockpiles 2 acres
Internal Haul Roads 2.5 acres
Mine Area 10 acres
M'n r.Disturbance
None
'!O'P~I.
