These water rights
have been used in past years to irrigate crops on 371 acres
of the mining site.
Table A lists information pertaining to decrees attached
to the Lower Clear Creek Ditch Company. The right is No.18
priority on Clear Creek and hence, is moderately senior.
Table B shows the diversions by the ditch during 1959 and
from 1961 through 1970. During these eleven years the ditch
diverted an average of 9,200 acre-feet per year. During
1954, a critical, dry year, the ditch diverted 7,380 acre-
feet which is approximately 80~ of the average annual
diversion. The reduced diversion during 1954 indicates
the ditch was placed under call by more senior water rights
or the diversions were limited by ava ibility of water
at the ditch headgate.
The Lower Clear Creek Ditch Company has issueu 375
shares. Each share is entitled to a pro-rata share of
the diversions by the ditch. During the period of record
shown in Table B the 11.5 sl. as of the ditch company appur-
tenant to the mining site were entitled to an average de-
livery of 282.1 acre-feet, less t insmission losses. The
water was used to irrigate corn on 80.4 acres as shown in
Figure 4 Calculations by the Blaney-Griddle method in-
dicate corn in the Henderson area would consume 1.89 feet
of water per year. The total consumptive use of 80.4 acres
of corn is 151.95 acre-feet of ditch water per year. The
irrigation consumptive use is 118.2 acre-feet per year. Each
share of Zower Clear Creek Ditch Company from this property
would yield 10.3 acre _eet of irrigation consumptive use
water per year.
The one share of the Colorado Agricultural Ditch Company
appurtenant to the mining site enables conveyance of water
to the site wh~r.h is diverted by the Lower Clear Creek Ditch.
The share is not entitled to ~•~ater diverted by the Colorad
Agricultural Ditcn.
Table B lists information pertaining to the four decrees
in the Brantner Ditch, which are owned by the New Brantner
Extension Ditch Company. The water rights were conveyed to
the New Brantner Extension Ditch Company in a contract made
with the Brantner Ditch Company.
