1
1

The present plan calls for continued operation and maintenance of
the office and scale house area until the entire resource area is
exhausted. When this facility is abandoned the area will be reclaimed
as grassy floodplain so as to be compatible with the surrounding land.
The final use of this land is compatible with surrounding present
1

LJ

uses including agriculture and other sand and gravel pits. Land uses
such as wildlife habitat and park land are ideally suited to comply with
the County Master Plan which identifies the entire area along the
Poudre floodplain as open space.
(c) Performance Standards - (Rule 6) The following paragraph letters and
numbers refer to corresponding paragraphs in Rule 6. of the Mined Land
Reclamation Board.
6.1

a. Grading will be carried on to create topography appropriate
to recreational use and to assure proper isolation between
the ponds and the river. No slopes will be left greater
than 3:1 except for those occurring naturally along the
river. No toxic materials exist in the affected area.
b. Grading will be continuous and uniform and will be conducted
to minimize erosion and siltation. The characteristics of
the soil on the site as described by the Soil Conservation
Service indicate that the anticipated slopes will preclude
any surface instability. Adjacent areas outside the
affected acreage will be protected by proper grading also.
' c. All grading will be conducted during and immediately after
the mining in each area.
d. No acid forming or toxic producing materials are known to
exist in the overburden or materials to be mined. Refuse
will not be generated on the affected land nor will any
refuse be disposed of in the mining process. Pollution
' of drainage systems will be protected by proper grading.
