PARTI
• Page 6
Permit No. COR-040000
B. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN -ACTIVE MINES (cont.)
The plan shall identify potential sources of pollution (including sediment) which may reasonably be expected to effect the quality
of stormweter discharge associated with the mining operation. In addition, the plan shall desmbe and ensure the
irnplementatian of best marugement practices (BMPs) which will be used to reduce the pollutants in stormweter discharges
associated with mining activity.
As a condition of thiapermit, active mining operations must certify the completion and implementation of the SWMP required
under this part. Alive mining optratiom must ®pltment the provisions of their SWMP as a wndition of this permit.
The Division reserves the right to requet and review the plans, and to require additional measures to prevent and control
pollution, as needed.
The SWMP shall include rho following itetas, at a minimum:
I. Description of Minin¢ Activities
The plan shall provide a ttarretive description of the mining and associated activities taking place at the site which affect
or may affect stormwater runoff intended to be covered by this permit. The narrative description shall report the total
acreage within the mine site and an estimate of the number of acre of disturbed area. A general description of the
location of the mining site rehttive to major transportation mutes and communities shall also be provided.
2. Atra Subject to Effluent Limitations Guidelines
• Each plan shall descti6a the portion of the mining site which contribute runoff [o areas subject to effluent limitations
guidelines contained in 40 CFR subchapter N.
3. Site Mao
Fach plea shall provide a site map or maps which indicate at a minimum:
- mining/milling site boundaries end access and haul roads;
- equipment storage, fueling and maintenance areas;
- materials handling areas;
- areas used for storage of overburden, materials, soils or wastes;
- erns used for outdoor manufacturing, storage or disposal of materials;
- lontian of mine draimge or any other process water,
- tailings piles/ponds, both sew and pre-existing:
- mine drainage or any other process water discharge points;
- springs, shearns, wetlands and other surface waters; and
- boundary of area that contribute runoff m outfalls that are subject to effluent limitations guidelines.
For those stns outside of the area that contribute runoff to outfalls that are subject to effluent limitations
guideline:
- m estimate of the directien(s) of flow;
- stormwater outfalls and as outline of the drainage aces of each stormwater outfall;
- each existing structural control measure to reduce pollutants in stormwater renoff; sad
- the location of impervious structures (e.g. parlong lots, roofs, etcJ
4. Description of Potential Pollutant Soutres/Mattrial inventory
The plea shall provide a deemption of potential sources which may reasonably be expected to add pollutants to
• stormwatar discharges. The plan shall identify all activitie and materials which may potentially be pollutant sources.
This description of sources should agree with sources identified on the map. The plea shall include, at a minimum:
e. An inventory and narrative decriptiop of ®gnifirant materials (see definitions in Part I.D. of this permit) that have
been trnted, stored or disposed of in a tmmer to allow exposure to stormwater from three years prior W permit
