This
road begins at the mouth of Sylvester Gulch and extends southward approximately 10,000 feet to the
Exhaust Ventilation Shaft (Shaft #2).
The average grade of this road is approximately 6.8% with no grades exceeding 12%. Road widths
vary from 20 feet to 24 feet, not including turnouts, and guardrail has been installed along the full length
of this road. Drainage ditches and culverts meeting or exceeding original design specifications for 10
• year - 24 hour storm events are in place and functional. Road side slopes in unreinforced soil are
generally at 2: 1, with minor exceptions, and appeaz stable.
Based upon my review and observations, I certify that this road has been constructed per the original
plans and specifications, as modified during construction, and meets the required design criteria for Haul
Roads as contained in Section 4.03.1 of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board for Coal Mining.
Eric W.
