- - ~ • CO-050-RG-85-46
ATTACHMENT A
*Recommended Stipulations
to the
Colorado Department of Highway
Nordyke Pit Proposal
M-85-040
1. Preferably the sand and gravel that is mined should be
taken off the hill with the use of a conveyor.
2. If a road is constructed on the south-facing hill over-
looking Froze Creek, it should be completed and maintained
in conformance with the following standards:
a. Normal width will be 16 feet.
b. Maximum grades will be 10 percent; the route should
follow natural contours to minimize cut and fill.
**c. Turnouts will be included only as needed.
**d. Drainage design.
**e. Culverts, cuts, and fills.
3. The same reclamation standards that the Colorado Highway Depart-
ment identified for the pit should also apply to any switchback road
built.
4. Adequate berms should be constructed at the base of the hill
to prevent erosion into Froze Creek.
5. The landowner (Nordyke) should be notified that he/she needs
to apply for a separate permit from BLM if he/she decides to mine
the material.
*These are in addition to those identified by the applicant in the 112
permit application form.
**These items will be constructed in accordance with BLM surface opera-
ting standards (copies enclosed).

_~
